Amputation Surgery for Ayana's beloved cat Sphinx

It has been recommended that Ayana's cat Sphinx undergo an amputation of his right limb due to an abscess that has formed on his shoulder. The abscess formed due to inflammation and infection which is causing Sphinx pain. Ayana's cat, who she feels is an emotional support animal for her mental health, means the world to her. At this point, Ayana exhausted her savings and is relying on money raised by GoFundMe, but has only raised $45. With her pet in pain and in need of relief, this has become time sensitive. Ayana is heart broken and stressed out, but she is so motivated to do what it takes to help her cat who helped her through very traumatizing years in supportive housing.

Ayana is an amazing young woman who aged out of foster care in NYC. She has been living in her NYCHA apartment for 4 years now. She is currently working toward her Bachelors Degree, and plans to pursue her Graduate Degree in Social Work. She aspires to work in the child welfare system to help other children and young adults succeed. She is also an entrepreneur, starting businesses both to help foster youth and around her passion for cooking. She is a staunch advocate for youth in foster care, linking them to resources and assisting with things like resume writing and career planning.
