Dunia is a bright and extremely brave girl. She is from Honduras and came to the US with her father who abused her. Now Dunia is in foster care while her mother and the rest of her family are in Honduras. Her journey to the US was difficult but with the support of her foster parents, CASA, counselor and DFCS she has made great strides. Her first language is Spanish but her English has improved since entering foster care. She is a sweet little girl but can be very shy until she gets comfortable with people.

Duvia has been so incredibly brave through multiple major life changes and transitions. She is now in an unfamiliar country, learning a brand new language, in a brand new home. Duvia is grateful to be safe and surrounded by support, but she really misses her mother and siblings who are still in Honduras. Duvia would love to have an iPad so she can FaceTime with her family frequently which will make her transition to the US a little less scary. Her family means the world to her and the only video chat app they have access to is FaceTime so Duvia really hopes she can have her own device with FaceTime too. She says she can also use her tablet to help her with her homework and with learning English. This iPad will help her in multiple areas of her life so she really hopes her wish comes true!
