Uyi, 26 years old

Uyi left foster care around 2014/15, being discharged to family via a kinship placement. Unfortunately, this did not go well and by 2017 Uyi was residing in a homeless shelter. He remained there for about a year before moving to Binghamton to attend college. Uyi is not currently still in school due to his lack of a strong support system, but was linked to our agency in the hopes of locating housing back in NYC where our nonprofit, and others, can better assist him on his path to success.

At this time, Uyi has no coat, sweaters, long pants or even winter boots to get him through New York's brutal winters. Having no winter clothes or shoes has been a huge stressor for Uyi because he also does not have the financial means to get any winter items. Being able to go to Marshalls and pick out what he needs to stay warm and comfortable this winter will mean the world to Uyi, and will help to alleviate this very real stress for him.
