Transportation Support for Nishena who is commuting to school four days a week

Nishena is a mother of two young children and is working hard to finish her last semester of college. Unfortunately, her university does not offer on-campus housing for families. Nishena and her husband were able to find a small house to rent close to family members who could help with babysitting. Nishena is commuting 170 miles round trip to school and back four days each week to complete her last two classes and a community service commitment. She is determined to make this commute work until May when she will receive her BA in Art History
Nishena is 25 years old and lives in CA
Nishena is a strong and independent young woman who is working on her college degree in Art History at a private university in Southern California. She is a young mother who is determined to break the cycle of poverty in her family by completing college. She is a Give Something Back scholar who has been a mentor to our younger scholars and will be in our first graduating class of CA Give Back Scholars in June of 2021.
