Alexa is an independent teenager girl who has been caring for herself for over a year now after experiencing homelessness. Alexa is strong willed, courageous, and has a strength that many children do not have. She is resourceful, kind and gentle soul who wants to help others. Alexa did not attend school due to her lack of housing but since in Division custody, Alexa has expressed that she wants to be in school, attend prom and do things that other kids her age. Alexa is deserving of so much more than she has received in life and she rarely asks for anything. She would be so grateful for this opportunity to learn a new and valuable life skill.

Alexa has decided that she would love to learn Spanish so that she can speak and understand the language fluently. She has expressed that learning the language will help her communicate with her extended family who speak Spanish, as well as help her navigate career options in life. Alexa hopes to one go into nursing, and to live in New York City. She feels that learning Spanish is essential to providing care as a nurse in the NYC area. She would be so grateful for this opportunity to learn a new and valuable life skill.
