Brittny is working on gaining her independence, but it is a process. She feels strongly that when she moves to her own place, she needs to have "things" in order. She knows she will need silverware, and is asking for this set so she will have eating utensils as soon as she gets her own place.
Brittny is 19 years old and lives in NC
Brittny has been in the US for about a year. She immigrated to the US from a central American Country because it was very dangerous there. She feels alone right now, and is needing to be in a safe place, and feel it. She is learning English, and is working on her schooling. She has learned some English, enough to "get by" but her desire is to be more successful. She makes good grades in school and states she has a lot to look forward to given the right opportunities. She is hoping to recognize them and take as much advantage as she can.
