Emergency grocery shopping for Uyi who is still waiting for benefits

City Living NYUyi left foster care around 2014/15, being discharged to family via a kinship placement. Unfortunately, this did not go well and by 2017 Uyi was residing in a homeless shelter. He remained there for about a year before moving to Binghamton to attend college. Uyi is not currently still in school due to his lack of a strong support system, but was linked to our agency in the hopes of locating housing back in NYC where our nonprofit, and others, can better assist him on his path to success.
Uyi is currently out of groceries and will not have receive public assistance for another week. He is experiencing some difficulty with adjusting to independently living now that he is living on his own for the first time ever, and is trying so hard to budget his food stamps which are just never enough. While Uyi goes back to the drawing board with his budgeting skills, we would love to help him with a small gift card just to hold him over for the next week. Please help us alleviate some of Uyi's stressors.
