She has been placed in foster care from a different state and is currently residing with a non related family member. Melinda is happy to finally be with her current caregiver. She has been in two prior placements in the past year. She is very happy that she was finally able to relocate to a more permanent home. Melinda is excited and nervous to start all over and attend a new school in a different state and make new friends. Melinda enjoys listening to music. Melinda states that music has gotten her through many difficult times. Her favorite singer is Taylor Swift.
Melinda's caregiver won a raffle for two Disneyland tickets. It works out perfect because she would like to take Melinda for her upcoming birthday. Melinda's caregiver would like to give Melinda a gift card so that she can purchase what she wants at the park. She knows Melinda is excited. Melinda expressed that she may want to purchase some ears and a Disneyland shirt for the day.
