Leroy is leading a CPS Training on Youth Engagement as part of a for his Master of Education course He is in need of supplies for the youth that he is training. The supplies will help them recreate a short video on foster care statistics, defying the odds and challenges decision makers to see youth are more than just their resilience in the face of survival and trauma. This wish will allow Leroy to successfully complete his course and create systematic change!
Leroy is 29 years old and lives in TX
Leroy is a former foster youth who experienced significant trauma as a child. His father was murdered in 2010 and his mother abandoned him and his siblings. Leroy suffers from ADHD, Depression and Anxiety but has learned to cope with them. After six years, he graduated from university with his Bachelors in Criminal Justice, and now is in a Masters in Public Affairs program. Leroy would like to continue helping children and youth who experience the system. Some of his accomplishments are having graduated, becoming a Naturalized US Citizen and having been awarded a Certificate of Special Congressional Commendation because of his involvement in the community. He has also assisted in making sure local colleges, universities and related stakeholders work together in bridging the gap and helping foster youth transition into higher education in a smoother way.
