A Washing Machine for Cary so she can keep her family's clothes clean, something she didn't have growing up

Cary, 37 years old

Cary aged out of foster care after graduating high school, and has been making it on her own ever since. She had multiple placements in foster care, but her last foster family was very caring and loved her like she was their own child. Fortunately, she is still in touch with them and they are a positive support system in her life. Cary is a devoted mom to her autistic son.

Cary is a single mom to her son Malcom, who is autistic. It is really difficult for her to get back and forth to the laundromat with their clothes because Malcom has many sensory issues, and he hates the sounds of the loud washers and dryers. Having access to a washing machine in her apartment will be a life-saver for Cary, and she knows that she will be sending her son to school in fresh, clean clothes everyday. Cary didn't always have that growing up, and remembers being embarrassed by the condition of her clothes. She is working so hard to break those generational cycles, and this wish will really help her towards being the best mom she can be to Malcom.
