Shawntay loves school, especially art. Shawntay could not be happier to be placed with a family relative and go to the same school two years in a row. She has finally found a good group of friends to hang out with. Shawntay has found drawing, writing, and creating art to help her deal with her feelings when she is feeling down. Shawntay would like to continue on her creative journey and has asked for a journal!
Shawntay is 17 years old and lives in NJ
Shawntay is a happy and engaging child. She spent several years in foster care and was recently returned to a relative's care. Despite her hardships, she remains a smiling and determined young girl

Honestly, high school sucks for everyone, but I’m not going to pretend to be able understand anything you’ve gone through and overcome and are still working to overcome. I do still know that keeping a journal helped me SO MUCH when I was in high school, and I really hope you’ll be able to pick out something fun to write and draw in that is just for you.
