Derik is a fun, energetic typical young boy. He has jumped around from foster care to kinship care and hasn't had a lot of consistency in his life, but he is always looking ahead and has a positive outlook on his future. He is working on graduating high school and is planning on attending a trade school. Derik enjoys working with his hands and hopes to find a well paying job once he completes his certifications. He enjoys hanging out with his friends and is always trying new activities to keep himself focused and on track.

Derik is a hard working young man who has bounced around a lot as a kid to various homes, and has a hard time making stable friendships. He has one BEST friend, David, who recently just moved away, and he is already missing him terribly. One thing they both enjoy is gaming, and they would play together when David lived here. Now that he is gone, Derik would love this gaming console so that he can connect with his best friend out of state. This Nintendo Switch unit allows multiplayer mode and has a lot of space so he shouldn't have a lot of internet glitches. If there is one big thing he would like for this holiday season, it would be this gaming console to stay in touch with David and keep that connection strong.
