Hunter, 13 years old

Woodfords Family ServicesHunter is an amazing young boy who recently moved into a foster home with his younger sister for the first time. Hunter has never been separated from his family and has had an incredibly difficult time adjusting to this change, especially with the holidays. Hunter transitioned to a new school and he is very eager to learn. He loves math! Although he struggles at times with reading and writing he will never stop asking questions and will even ask for extra homework. Hunter is a very polite, well-mannered young boy. His smile, along with his silly jokes will make anyone want to spend more time with him!
Since being in foster care, Hunter has shown an increasing willingness and eagerness to learn, especially with interactive and hands on activities. Hunter is in the 5th grade and prior to foster care he was not receiving appropriate educational support therefore his academic needs were not being met. Hunter has grown significantly over the previous school year and has shown a great interest in science. This National Geographic Earth Science Kit was at the top of his wish list! He will be so excited to find it under the tree!
