Susie is an affectionate, resilient fifteen year old girl with a considerable amount of developmental disabilities and delays. She has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, and a Chromosomal Disorder. Susie has a rare genetic illness: the duplication of chromosome 15. This greatly impacts the quality of her life. It is important to note that despite Susan’s exorbitant amount of delays and disabilities, she has made great strides and her speech has improved dramatically. However, her language skills are still very limited as are her receptive skills. She will do best in resource home that is not only compassionate and sincerely empathetic, but has the allotted time and resources to dedicate to this warm-hearted special needs child who is a pure joy to all who know her. Susie has dark blonde hair and a very fair complexion. She is an exuberant girl who is an absolute pleasure to be around. Suzie loves Disney movies, especially Pocahontas. She enjoys being read Dr. Seuss books. She loves television, video games, and anything electronic. A favorite interest that Susie has is Dora the Explorer videos. Susan will engage in doing puzzles, looking at books, and engaging with people. She is always happy and smiling. Susan has lived in a group home for the last 3 years with a goal of select home adoption.
