Ely is about to graduate from high school and get ready to attend college. The journey he is on, wasn't always a positive one. Ely lives with his Mother, Grandmother, and three siblings. Ely's mother has had numerous issues and it often falls to his Grandmother to be his caregiver. His sister also suffers with a medical condition and is often hospitalized for weeks at a time. This impacts the entire family. Ely worries when his sister gets hospitalized but he puts on a brave face. Ely has developed into a loving, and caring young man who has aspirations to either be an international businessman or a marine biologist. Even with the recent loss of his grandfather, Ely remains positive. He just sent in his deposit to the college of his choice in Tampa FL. While he doesn't want to leave his sisters and grandmother, he hopes that moving away for school will allow him to focus and enjoy the college experience.
