Brayton is a self-motivated, affable young man who has done very well despite having been confronted with multiple challenges. Both of his parents are deceased. He had lived much of his life with his grandparents, with whom he was closely bonded. His grandfather, with whom he was especially close, passed away and his grandmother subsequently suffered many health issues rendering Brayton basically homeless. He became a ward of the state at age 14, and has lived in multiple juvenile homes since that time. Despite these obstacles, he has done well at preparing for adulthood. He graduated high school while also attending a vocational school and was recently accepted into Indiana University where he plans to study nursing.
