Sharonda has been making waves in the foster care community since before she aged out! Her and her twin sister are known by everyone in ACS as the ultra-advocates; they are masterful for knowing and teaching youth rights to everyone they meet! Sharonda has been working for ACS herself to promote reform and change in the system. Sharonda's experience in care was unique, in which she was with one family until she was 18 when she entered into the cycle of homes again. She was separated from her twin sister in this process. Through this, she learned her rights quickly and was unafraid to ask and research. Since aging out of care, Sharonda still works closely with CASA. She has been involved in the NYC Hackathon, helping create several websites for foster youth to teach themselves all sorts of topics!
