Elijah is a young man who can be described in one word - OVERCOMER! He has tapped into his innate ability to persevere when his family structure changed dramatically when his dad was incarcerated six years ago. Elijah has been a student at Young Men's Leadership Academy since the 7th grade, thriving in its Engineering program. He is now a high school senior and was awarded the Lockheed Martin Academic Sweatshirt (2019) for keeping a GPA of 3.8+ throughout high school. Additionally, he scored high on the SAT and is a top-performing track athlete for his school. Elijah is the second oldest of five children in a single parent household. He aspires to be a mechanical engineer. He is in the process of completing several college and scholarship applications. His hope is to achieve a full, academic ride while also being able compete in track and field on the collegiate level.
