Kaya is very artistic. She loves to draw and color and she really loves writing. She and her younger brother were abused and witnessed a lot of domestic violence. For a long time Kaya took it on herself to take care of her younger brother because nobody else would. Because of her taking on the role of his mama, she has a hard time just being a kid and relaxing. They are now safe with their aunt along with a cousin who lives with them as well. Kaya's aunt says she uses art and writing to escape and help with her healing.
