Dakarai was part of the foster care system since the age of three. He was first placed with a family member as a part of a kinship placement and when that placement did work, he was placed in Green Chimneys, an LGBTQ group home. Dakarai is now in college studying Criminal Justice, and is so proud that he has made the Dean's List as a first generation college student.
