King has already captured hearts with his wide, curious eyes and dimpled grin. His favorite things are playing peek-a-boo, eating applesauce, and carrying his stuffed lion everywhere—his "roar buddy," as his aunt calls it. King is being raised by his aunt in informal foster care, also known as kinship care. He doesn't know his biological parents, as life took some complicated turns early on. When he was just a few months old, his aunt stepped in to care for him. She also looks after his three female cousins.
