Jose, 21 years old, TX

Jose's experience in foster care had a big impact on his high school journey. After getting used to his new situation, he worked hard to stay focused on graduating. It wasn't easy to return to school after dropping out, but he pushed through and earned his diploma. After graduation, he took some time before starting college and decided to train as an EMT. He's grateful for the support he received in foster care that helped him excel in the program and finish at the top of his class. Now, he attends college and works full-time as an EMT. In his free time, Jose loves exploring his area, trying out new fast-food places, and catching the latest movies with his family. Jose believes his perseverance is what sets him apart. There were tough moments when he felt like giving up, but he kept reminding himself that he wanted a better future. This mindset has helped him stay focused on his daily tasks and avoid getting caught up in worries.
