In 2023, Geno was placed into the foster care system after his mother repeatedly left him and his sister alone in a hotel room or with strangers for long periods while she struggled with drug use. After several unsuccessful attempts to reunite with them, Geno was placed with a kind and caring foster parent who plans to adopt him.
