Voices for Children - San DiegoIn 2023, Geno was placed into the foster care system after his mother repeatedly left him and his sister alone in a hotel room or with strangers for long periods while she struggled with drug use. After several unsuccessful attempts to reunite with them, Geno was placed with a kind and caring foster parent who plans to adopt him. Geno, who has autism spectrum disorder, is a sweet, quiet, and happy boy. He loves giving high fives and playing with toy cars. He is particularly fascinated by lights of all kinds, which he finds relaxing to watch. Everyone who knows Geno loves him, and his teachers describe him as a bright light who brings tremendous joy to his classmates and the classroom atmosphere.
Geno is a sweet young man with autism spectrum disorder and Williams syndrome. Due to his developmental delays, he experiences and responds to the world differently than neurotypical peers. He finds joy and comfort in bright, flashing colors and lights, which have a calming effect on him. His foster mom believes that a ceiling projector would be the perfect addition to his space, allowing him to enjoy the soothing lights both at night and during the day. This special projector would provide him with a unique source of happiness and tranquility.
