During his time with her, Simon faced neglect; he often lacked food and clothing and was at risk of having the electricity turned off. Despite these challenges, Simon has been thriving in his current home. He is actively involved in sports and helps his grandparents with household chores. Both parents were given opportunities to reunite with him and visit, but they have not followed through on these chances.
