Serenity has been in and out of the foster care system since she was very young. She was adopted at the age of 15 and has since been thriving in her forever home. Serenity works part-time and volunteers at a local farm while caring for her own farm animals at home. When Serenity first came into care, her dominant hand was burned in hot water, which impacted her ability to use it. Since her adoption, she has undergone several surgeries to improve her function. Although she can now use her hand, the surgeries have left her with several scars, making her feel self-conscious about her appearance.
