Yaden, 12 years old, NJ

Yaden is a resilient boy who has faced significant challenges from an early age. He was born outside of the United States and experienced physical abuse and neglect in his early years before being adopted at age four. While adoption brought hope for stability, the effects of early trauma made it difficult for him to feel safe and build trusting relationships. His first adoptive placement eventually disrupted due to behavioral challenges, and after being rehomed and adopted again, ongoing trauma-related struggles led to another removal. Despite this instability, Yaden is now beginning an important healing journey through therapy and other supportive services. He is continuing to grow and explore new interests. Recently, he has expressed interest in attending a summer soccer camp, which would give him a positive and structured experience. Having been homeschooled previously, he is now attending school and will have the opportunity to participate in organized sports for the first time.
