Skyla has experienced significant trauma in her young life. She has multiple medical and developmental needs, including sacral agenesis, which results in bowel and bladder incontinence requiring daily use of incontinence briefs. Skyla is also diagnosed with ADHD, ASD, and an eating disorder, which impact her attention, behavior regulation, social functioning, and nutrition. In addition, she has partial hearing loss in her left ear, which may affect communication and engagement. Skyla loves to write and was recently published in a book through her school. She works hard to maintain a positive outlook on life, though this can be challenging at times.
