Tyrell, 12 years old, NJ

Tyrell is an adolescent struggling with ADHD and self-regulation, particularly when it comes to managing his anger. His journey has led him in and out of host homes and residential treatment centers. One of his major challenges is his difficulty with authority, which may stem from the trauma he experienced as a child, witnessing the volatile relationship between his parents. Recently, he was transferred to a new residential treatment home, where he grapples with feelings of worthlessness, believing that his mother and grandparents do not love him because he is constantly being sent away. Despite these challenges, he will be attending school at the facility, hoping for a brighter future.
