In May 2026, Rose woke up and realized her mother, the sole caregiver for her and her two younger sisters, had passed away suddenly overnight from an aneurysm. Rose and her sisters spent the following weeks in shock and despair, not only grieving their mother but also entering the child welfare system with no known relatives or guardians available to care for them.
