Our facility is a co/ed facility which houses 10 kid’s boys and girls ranging from the age of 10-18, and our organization would love to be considered for the one simple wish program this holiday. Normally around the Holidays all the staff at Derrick’s House would chip in to make sure that the youth we serve do not go without a Christmas. We also do the same thing for their birthdays. Unfortunately, due to a staffing shortage and our house running at full capacity for the entirety of the year Our facility is a co/ed facility which houses 10 kid’s boys and girls ranging from the age of 10-18, and our organization would love to be considered for the one simple wish program this holiday. Unfortunately, due to a staffing shortage and our house running at full capacity for the entirety of the year I fear that we would not be able to meet the needs of the youth that we serve this holiday season. For many of our youth Derrick’s House is the closest thing to a home environment that many of the youth have ever experienced in their short-lived lives. Derrick’s House provides, housing, clothing, meals, educational experiences, recreational activities, leadership, and stability for all the youth that walk through our doors. We understand that the youth that we serve have been through plenty of chaos and turmoil in their lives, but our mission is to show them that normalcy is still prevalent even when it seems as if it isn’t.
