VA DSS - Chesapeake City CountyMarquise is an incredible young man who entered the foster care system after being removed from his mother due to neglect. He is adjusting well in his new home and is performing admirably in school. Marquise loves to play basketball, football, and soccer, and he dreams of becoming a sports doctor. Despite experiencing significant trauma in his short life, he continues to smile and maintains a positive outlook on life.
Marquise didn't think he would make the school track team because he felt he was not fast enough. Marquise has been practicing in the neighborhood and racing everyone in the house every chance he can. He recently decided he would try out for the track team and to his surprise he made the team. A new pair of track shoes would really be nice for Marquise.
