Jah-na is a typical teenage girl who attends school daily and tries her best with her schoolwork. She loves getting her hair braided, which takes at least five hours, but she believes it’s worth the time! Jah-na has many friends and enjoys eating Takis. She is also interested in participating in the school play. Jah-na lives with her widowed father and receives support from the Department of Children and Families Services.

Jayla's grandmother stepped up before the Division's involvement to care for Jayla. Now that the Division is involved, the worker was talking with the grandmother about a life book and that even though it is not required of her, it might be something that she and Jayla would like to do together to preserve family memories. Jayla loved the idea and cannot wait to start it! This life book would be perfect for her to hold her memories!
