Pin and guard for April who has worked tirelessly toward her upcoming pinning ceremony and nursing degree

April is a 4th-semester nursing student and is SO excited to have finally reached this incredible milestone. Raising two children, going to school, and working as a home health aide has been very challenging but also incredibly rewarding for April. As she looks forward to the pinning ceremony, she's become a bit discouraged by the prices of the pins and guards offered by her school. Though she knows her accomplishment goes beyond the physical representation of it, she worries about being the only student unable to be pinned at the ceremony. This wish will provide April with the recognition she deserves at the ceremony, and allow her to celebrate her incredible achievement without barriers.
April is 40 years old and lives in CA
April is a former foster youth and a single mother of two children. She and her children are the only members of her extended family in the US, but she is determined to make the best life for them. April is incredibly resilient and over the past few years, she has committed to finishing her nursing program - not only as a promise to herself, but an ode to her perseverance, and ultimately to better support her and her children. April is very involved in the UP4Youth program, consistently participating in all workshops and being sure to apply all content to her life, and sharing it with others who may be able to benefit from it.
