Aisha has always been an athlete and loves to work out. However, since graduating from high school last year, she hasn't made much time for that because of all the changes she's been adjusting to, and it's not as easy to participate in sports in college as in high school. She has decided to prioritize getting herself back in shape and taking better care of herself. This will also help with the mental health challenges she's been facing. Not having a family and being forced to leave her foster home has been challenging. Still, with a new determination to take care of herself, she hopes that a new pair of headphones to play her favorite music on while working out will help her succeed in life and flourish despite all the challenges she is up against.
Aisha is 19 years old and lives in CA
Aisha is courageous and brave. She is defying the statistics for children and youth who have been in foster care; she graduated from High school last year and is in her first year of college. Although the transition has been difficult, she is succeeding! This is her second time in foster care. After being adopted as an infant, her mom suddenly passed away when she was 14, leaving her with no family to care for her. So she has been in care again for almost five years. To say it's been challenging is an understatement, but Aisha is beating the odds with grace and dignity.
