A new laptop for Everette to do schoolwork at home
Everett, 17 years old, NC
Wish submitted by:
Mecklenburg County Guardian ad LitemEverett lives with his aunt, her husband, and their child in a kinship foster placement. When he entered care, he had to start at a new high school and was upset about being separated from his twin brother, but he made friends quickly. He loves to play games and fix things. He got a job and is excited to make his own money! Everett has struggled academically, but after coming into foster care, he was diagnosed with dyslexia, and he has made great progress in his reading by working with a dyslexia specialist! He has a great sense of humor and adds energy and playfulness to any situation. He is enrolled in a program preparing him for trade school. He hopes to be a mechanic, a welder, or a plumber.
Everette had a computer issued by his school this year, but the new school does not provide computers for students. Everette has previously struggled academically but after coming into foster care, he was diagnosed with dyslexia and he has made great progress working with a dyslexia specialist! A laptop of his own will help him with his schoolwork.
