April is a very special young lady who has been learning to play the piano for the past three years. She has taught herself through YouTube videos and an app called Piano Academy. April is teaching herself to play the song "Interstellar." She aspires to become a 911 dispatcher so that she can help others in need. When she was just a few weeks old, April's biological mother gave her to one of her coworkers because she was unable to care for her. Over the years, April has lived in numerous foster homes. She briefly returned to her mother's care before entering foster care again and eventually aging out of the system.

April is at a stage where she wants to take charge of her life and be more self-sufficient. However, she feels held back because she doesn't have a cell phone. She shared with her advocate that having one would be a game-changer, as it would help her stay on top of her bills, communicate with service providers, potential employers, and her loved ones. With a phone, April would feel more empowered and confident in her ability to achieve anything she sets her mind to.
