Joselyne was born in a refugee camp in Tanzania. Her biological parents came from Burundi and fled there to escape the civil war. Unfortunately, Joselyne was unable to be adopted because she lacked a birth certificate. Tanzania claims she is a Burundian citizen, while Burundi asserts that she is a Tanzanian citizen. Since entering foster care, Joselyne’s permanency team has been fighting for her citizenship. Despite the challenges she has faced, Joselyne is a beautiful and intelligent young lady with big plans for her future. She aspires to become a labor and delivery nurse. With her kind spirit, Joselyne is determined to give back to the world.

Joselyne is turning 21! It's a huge milestone for her and she's really excited to celebrate! She's been working hard as an intern with her foster agency because she dreams of becoming a social worker. Since she's aging out of care, she definitely deserves a fun night out and a new outfit to make her feel confident and beautiful. Let's help her make this birthday extra special!
