A docking station for Mary to assist with her school work

Mary, 20 years old

Voices for Children - San Diego

Mary has been in foster care since 2016 due to violence and drug use in her home. She is now participating in the extended foster care program and learning how to be self-sufficient. One big step for Mary is that she recently applied for her first job in an after-school program. She loves working with children, and she hopes she gets the job. She also learned how to make a dental appointment so she can get a chipped tooth fixed. The next goal she has is to get her driver's license. She is learning that adulting can be hard, but she's a goal-setter, which will help her navigate everything she has to do to become self-supporting.

Mary is currently attending college and she is doing very well. Her long-term goal is to be a teacher or a pediatrician so she realizes she has lots of school to complete. She says a new docking station would really help her with her ability to do her schoolwork. When she talked about the holidays, that was all she could think of that she really needed.
