Sam was brought into care due to his father's neglect and his mother's absence in his life. Unfortunately, not long after entering foster care Sam experienced more trauma. Sam has now been placed with a caregiver who is helping bring out the best in Sam. She has known him and his situation since he was young and Sam is thriving under her care. He is supported educationally now through his IEP and is doing much better in school this year. The staff say that he is a joy and that he helps other peers in his classroom. Sam loves to play around, especially at the ocean.

Sam is a smart, funny, playful young man who likes to joke around and play games. He has literally begged his CASA to take him to iFly many times, but he hasn't had the chance to go yet because CASA has spending rules that don't cover the full cost. His Caregiver and soon to adoptive mother have been trying to save the money to send Sam, but it is taking longer than expected. It would be a dream come true for Sam if he could go on this holiday, and he would feel deeply cared for and listened to regarding his desire.
