A day at Worlds of Fun for Emma to experience new things

Posted Mar 19, 2024
Emma hasn't had many of the experiences children her age have had and is very curious as to what these things mean. She is excited to experience new things and has a desire to be adventurous. The idea of Worlds of Fun with their themed rides is very exciting for her. She wants to ride with her foster brothers and promises to hold their hand if they are scared.

Emma is 18 years old and lives in MO

Emma is a wonderful and sweet girl who, despite having a mental handicap, works hard to learn and strive for independence. She is determined to acquire the necessary skills to become more self-sufficient and eventually live on her own. Affectionate and loving, Emma adores everyone, especially those who can give her big hugs! She has a creative mind and enjoys making rubber band bracelets. Emma also thinks blue avatars are fantastic and has a particular obsession with Squishmallows. After being adopted as a young child, she was unfortunately returned to the system. Since then, she has been learning to trust the world again as she prepares to step into adulthood. Though she worries a lot, her caretakers do their best to make her feel loved, teach her that there is kindness in the world, and serve as a guiding presence in her young life.

"This may seem like a simple thing for a lot of kids, but for this kid it was the best gift ever. This experience is a first and is so very exciting for her. Emma has had a lot of challenges which have made it difficult for her to be a normal kiddo, so being able to provide her with this small piece of normalcy is incredibly awesome. The family is so thankful to the kind heart that provided her with this gift and cannot wait to share this experience with her. "
