Piano basics books for AD to learn how to play

AD began taking Introduction to Music this spring and found an electric piano at the thrift store. Although he's learning over YouTube, he expressed that books would be helpful. This set of books was recommended by a trusted friend, and AD would love to have his own copies!
AD is 20 years old and lives in CA
AD is at one of the top public universities in the world with an eye towards media or film studies. Despite a solid first year, the second year has been incredibly stressful, with challenges around mental health, bio and foster families, academics, and belonging within a large campus. Prior to college, he attended over 15 schools and navigated on his own to ensure his future. However, it has been quite overwhelming and we are continuing to support him during this slightly prolonged transition. Hobbies that bring him joy are listening to music of all genres, styling people, playing basketball, and skateboarding.
