A Laptop for David to help with schoolwork and to design projects

David, 18 years old

Wish submitted by:

Voices for Children - Riverside

David was removed from his home due to neglect. He is a type II diabetic who had no medical care at home. He has been in eleven different placements since he was removed at ten years old. David loves to build things. He put together a little basketball court game from items he found such as cardboard, paper clips, and such. The game has moving parts and his friends love playing it.

David has just completed 10th grade and has worked really hard to improve his grades, now earning mostly A's and B's. While he has access to a computer at school, he doesn't have one at home. He would really like to have his own laptop to continue his work at home and use it in the upcoming school years. He has a passion for building things and often creates elaborate plans. Having a laptop would also allow him to design his projects. He feels that apart from his advocate, everyone else in his life has abandoned him and receiving a computer from a stranger would show him that there are good people in the world.
