Maria spent 11 years in foster care. Her experiences with instability, trauma, and drama during those early years fueled her determination to succeed and to change the world's perception of foster children. She is extremely proud of graduating from high school and becoming a certified nursing assistant (CNA). Maria is fully committed to advancing her career.

Maria wants a TV because she has been without one for three years. Sometimes, when she gets home and wants to relax, she likes to watch "Frozen," "Tangled," or simply unwind after a long, stressful day. Unfortunately, she can't afford a TV right now. Having a TV would bring her happiness, allowing her to enjoy her favorite movies or shows after a tough day at school and in life.
