A tablet for Brady to open on his birthday
Brady, 19 years old
Wish submitted by:
MO DSS Children's Division - Jackson CountyBrady is a high-functioning, autistic young man who loves sports and animals. He has a big heart and does not ask for much. He has just finished high school and has joined the Special Olympics for flag football. Brady has a lot of energy and likes to work out at the gym, where he can lift weights and swim in the pool. Brady likes to help others when he is out in the community. Brady is also helpful at home, and he often asks if he could help with making meals. He is a big fan of seafood and loves his sweets.
Brady requested a tablet for his birthday so that he could stay in touch with his friends now that he is no longer in school. As a young adult with Autism, Brady struggles with socialization skills. The tablet will allow him to communicate with peers and help him improve and maintain his current social skills. Additionally, he plans to use the tablet to stay organized and on track with his daily routine. He will set up apps to help him track tasks such as laundry, chores, and getting ready for football. This will provide him with the responsibility and accountability to complete these tasks. Furthermore, the tablet will help him stay connected with his Older Youth worker and job readiness coach, and continue to prepare him for independence.
Missouri Department of Social Services - Children's Division requests this wish for Brady.
