Matthew has always been a big fan of shoes; it's always been his favorite part of his outfit. However, his instability and unfortunate surroundings have robbed him of having nice shoes of his own for very long. It's a terrible feeling to be so proud of something, only to have it taken from you. This year, Matthew has found himself in a stable and lasting environment. His new home has him going to school, getting the help he needs, and even better, he is going to have the opportunity to play basketball, something that he has always wanted to do! So, when he was asked what he would want his wish to be, shoes and basketball shoes were the first words to come out of his mouth! Granting this wish is not only going to give a child back something that they lost but also bring a little confidence to the court when he gets out there to start basketball practice. He's in an all-new environment with all-new people, and he could just use this one piece that makes him feel complete!
