K'Miyah is a joyful young lady currently living in a transitional living program (TLP) with a dozen other youths who are in extended foster care. She came into care in February 2021 due to circumstances beyond her control and has since lived in various group homes and TLP programs. Initially, this experience caused her to have a bad attitude and act out, but she eventually realized that her behavior wouldn’t change her situation. Since then, she has made a complete turnaround and is now on track, enrolled in school. Her smile is contagious, and she makes friends wherever she goes. K'Miyah enjoys watching movies, playing basketball, and spending time outdoors. Despite all her trials and tribulations, she continues to be a source of light for others.

K'Miyah is at a pivotal moment in her life, navigating the complexities of her first year in college while grappling with uncertainty about her future. Eager to excel, she faces the challenge of lacking the support and resources that many of her peers take for granted. However, with a newfound network of caring staff behind her, K'Miyah feels inspired to take control of her academic journey. An iPad would be more than just a device; it would be a lifeline—an essential tool for organizing her notes, accessing her books, and enhancing her learning experience. Empowered and determined, she's ready to embrace her potential and forge a path to success. With the right support and resources, K'Miyah can transform her dreams into reality.
