Sam is a great kid! He’s dealt with a lot over the last few years. Between kinship homes, group homes, and even a trial period reunification, he has found himself constantly moving. He is finally in a great spot, though! He’s with his maternal grandmother, and things are going really well! Sam loves his grandmother and has been a great help to her! He missed so much school in the past and is a bit behind. However, this hasn’t brought him down; he’s excited to work hard and keep growing!

Sam has recently developed an interest in gaming. Traditionally, he has been a very active kid and didn't enjoy the idea of sitting around to play games. However, his perspective changed when he visited a friend's house and got the chance to try out an Oculus headset. He was amazed by how real the experience felt, with actual movements translating into the game. Not having owned a video game system himself, the thought of having his own for Christmas would be incredibly special for him. It would not only allow him to connect with friends from his old school who also play but would also help him forge new friendships at his current school. This blend of connections to his past and the opportunity to make new friends would provide Sam with much-needed fun during his experience in foster care.
