A guitar for Alejandra who is soothed by music
Alejandra, 18 years old
Wish submitted by:
Voices for Children - San DiegoAlejandra was taken into protective custody after her grandmother did not allow her back into the home for appropriate shelter or care, resulting in the child being without appropriate supervision, food, and shelter. Alejandra's biological parent's whereabouts are unknown. Alejandra was placed in her current placement in late 2021. She lives and goes to school at a large group home/boarding school environment for foster youth. Due to her anxiety, Alejandra is having a tough time with school, but she has made close ties with her peers and with the school staff. Everyone who knows her agrees that she is a smart, sweet girl. One of the things she enjoys most is listening to music in her room.
From a young age, Alejandra has been deeply passionate about music. Her melodious voice has always captivated those around her, but despite her singing talent, she has yet to explore the world of musical instruments—a longing that has lingered in her heart. With a burning desire to teach herself to play the guitar, Alejandra hopes to cultivate a new skill that will not only enhance her musical expression but also elevate her self-confidence. For her, music serves as a soothing balm for anxiety, offering moments of tranquility that allow her to unwind and escape the pressures of daily life. Embracing the strings of a guitar would not only fulfill a lifelong dream but also provide her with a powerful tool for relaxation and self-discovery.
