Violet spent three years in the system and did not receive any services after she was emancipated. Taking matters into her own hands, she decided to return to school to earn her diploma. But she didn’t stop there! Violet continued to push for her education and graduated with her Bachelor’s degree. While in college, she participated in a work-study program with the Guardian Scholars and enjoyed giving back to the foster youth community. Violet hopes to find a career that allows her to work with at-risk youth. Additionally, she is a small business owner who creates handmade moon phase intention-based candles and other products. Her dream is to attend graduate school for post-secondary education so that she can work with Guardian Scholars programs in community colleges.

Violet has been facing a tough financial situation for the past few months. Although she is working full-time and vending at local flea markets on the weekends, she is still living paycheck to paycheck.
